A Cacaphony of Colors
A lazy Saturday morning strolling the streets of Orange. Part of our ritual is lunch at Watsons Drugstore. The real deal dating back 80 years with a great counter and soda fountain. The wife is enjoying her chocolate malt. I suddenly realize that there is color everywhere in front of me and take the picture spontaneously. Trying to stay in that constant state of photography.

Dazzled by the light…
Friday evening strolling up the boulevard to dinner. The setting sun was dazzling in our eyes. Casting the most amazing long shadows of other pedestrians on the sidewalk. My D-Lux 5 camera can take video. I just couldn’t resist capturing the moment.

On the cusp…
Look up…
look down, look all around. I was given that corny sounding advice by a photography
instructor years ago. He was teaching us to break out of our normal mode
of only photographing things as we encounter them directly in front of us.
I read another tip that suggested to turn around from the scene you’re
planning to photograph and see if the scene behind you is better or more
interesting. Both tips are prompting us to look outside our normal
boundaries of seeing. Good advice. This photograph was taken as I was
walking down a flight of stairs in an old office building. I was looking
down the stairs for a picture. I happened to look up and saw this window
in the stairwell. I liked what I saw and took the picture.
